Jam Berry Day
Every year (usually the first or second week of June) Terry Berries holds a Jam Berry Day. On this day we cut the tops off of all the strawberries and sell them for a dollar by the pound (you bring your own container). These strawberries are ideal for jam making because towards the end of the berry season the weather gets hotter. This hot weather causes the strawberries to ripen faster and become softer. Because these berries are so soft and juicy they are impossible to ship to other cities and states, so we sell these berries to other companies for strawberry jam that you buy in stores. Since we have so many customers who also enjoy jam making we decided to start selling these juicy fruits to everyone at an affordable price! However, if you're not a jam maker, don't worry! After you properly wash them, these berries are also delicious in pastries, frostings, syrups, and just eating plain! Freezing your jam berries is also a great way to keep your fruit year round and use in smoothies. Be on the lookout for the next Jam Berry Day, we start passing out fliers at the stand a few weeks before the big day.
